R-MC improves to 10-8 overall and 5-6 in the league. The Yellow Jackets also got double-figure scoring from Jeremy Dixon who had 14 points, while Adam Krovic and Loren Sisson had 10 points a piece.
The Jackets knocked down 43-of-63 (68.3%) shots on the afternoon, while converting 18-of-21 of their chances from the free-throw line.
E&H (11-7 / 7-5 ODAC) was paced by Lance Reasbeck who had 27 points on the strength of eight three-pointers. Camillo Weinz had 11 points for the Wasps who shot 40.9 percent (30-of-68) from the floor on the afternoon.
The Wasps jumped out to an early lead in first-half, opening up a double-digit advantage when Anthony Leary converted a pair of free-throws to make the score 41-31 with 6:12 left in the opening half.
E&H extended its lead to 17 when Kevin Viers hit a three-pointer with 1:12 left, making the score 56-39 in favor of the Wasps.
Following Viers’ three, R-MC got back-to-back buckets from Dixon and a field goal by Carlson with time running out in the half to cut the Wasp advantage to 56-45 at the break.
Reasbeck opened up the second-half scoring with a three-pointer to put E&H up by 14 at 59-45 with 19:53 left in the game.
The Yellow Jackets fought back and chipped away at the lead the entire second-half before eventually pulling within one at 94-93 when Dixon hit a shot with five minutes left in the contest.
After R-MC got a stop on the Wasps’ ensuing possession, Andre Hunter scored to put the Jackets in front with 4:39 left.
With the game tied at 98, Reasbeck nailed a three-pointer to give the Wasps the lead with 2:49 on the clock.
With 2:11 to play, Dixon cut the E&H lead to one on the Yellow Jackets’ next possession. Following a R-MC defensive stop, Carlson put R-MC up 103-101 with a three-point field goal with 1:07 remaining in the game.
Anthony Hairston made one-of-two free-throw attempts the next time down the floor for the Wasps to cut the R-MC advantage to one point, but Carlson sealed the game with another three-pointer with seven ticks on the clock.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Wednesday night when it will welcome Lynchburg College for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
