CLINTON, Ms. — The Mississippi College women\'s basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with an 81-72 win over Rhodes College (2-1). Senior forward Lacey Kennedy scored a career-high 43 points in the nine-point victory for the Lady Choctaws.CC Grove City Wolverines

The first half was full of action as each team swapped scores to keep the game close in the early going. Kennedy led all scorers in the first half with 20 points to go along with three rebounds. Crystal Jessee of the Lynx led her team with 14 points in the first half to make the score 39-36 going into the break.
The second half did not disappoint either. Kennedy came back out and asserted herself as she finished with 43 points and 12 rebounds, overall. She shot an astounding 15-20 from the field and 12-13 from the free throw line. She was almost matched shot for shot by Ashley Farrell of the Lynx, who finished with 35 points and six rebounds. The Lady Choctaws also got an amazing effort from senior center Natalie Jordan, who managed to finish the game with 19 points.
The game was much closer than the final score may have suggested. The Lady Choctaws were finally able to pull away in the final minutes to come away victorious, 81-72. Coming off of two wins against Rust College and LaGrange College, the Lady Choctaws will head into conference play on Saturday with a 3-0 record. They will face off against Mary Hardin-Baylor at 1:00 pm at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
