GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford College junior Ben Strong (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) notched his 10th double-double of the year with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the Quakers' 76-65 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon.

With their third straight win, the Quakers swept the season series from the Yellow Jackets (9-8, 4-6 ODAC) for the second time in three years and matched their most wins in a season since 2004-05. Guilford, ranked 25th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, moves to 14-2 overall (8-2 ODAC) for the first time since 1974-75.

Randolph-Macon's David Carlson (Woodbridge, Va./Flint) scored a game-high 20 points, all in the first half, and kept the Yellow Jackets in the game. After his team trailed by 12 points in the first nine minutes, Carlson rallied Randolph-Macon back into the game with four three-pointers and seven-of-eight field-goal shooting. His fourth trifecta broke a 28-28 tie and gave the guests a short-lived 31-28 edge 5:24 before halftime. The Quakers finished the period on a 15-4 run that included three Clay Henson (Glen Alpine, N.C./Freedom) three-pointers and led 43-35 at the break.

After Randolph-Macon shot 58.8 percent from the floor in the first half, Guilford clamped down and limited the Yellow Jackets to 34.6 percent second-half shooting. The Quakers enjoyed a 36-24 rebounding edge that included 12 offensive boards leading to 18 second-chance points. Randolph-Macon had no second-chance points.

Strong, the ODAC's leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker, also added five blocks as he led the Quakers' scorers for the ninth time this year. Henson finished with 14 points thanks to a career-high four three-pointers. Eric Belkoski (Rockingham, N.C/Richmond Senior) added 12 points and four steals for Guilford.

Carlson, who fouled out with 5:31 left in the game, made seven-of-11 field goals, including four-of-seven three-pointers. Stephen Sutherland (Morgantown, W. Va./Fairmont) netted 17 points off the bench and Adam Krovic (Durham, N.C./Jordan) finished with nine.

Guilford hosts league-leading Virginia Wesleyan (15-3, 10-1 ODAC) tomorrow (1/28) afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The Marlins, ranked fourth in this week's D3hoops.com poll, had a 27-game ODAC winning streak snapped Saturday at Emory & Henry, 124-101. Randolph-Macon visits Emory & Henry Sunday (1/28) at 2:00 p.m.
