With the win, King's improved to 4-3 on the year while Baptist Bible slipped to 2-3.
King's led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but the defenders slowly chipped away and eventually took a 63-58 lead on a bucket by Justin Cook with 6:17 left in the contest.
The teams would trade leads five times and were tied three other times for the remainder of regulation. King's trailed 72-71 with 0:32 left and had a chance to take the lead, but Jamie Cousart missed the second of two foul shots, leaving the game deadlocked at 72-72.
The Defenders would have a chance to win it, but the Monarchs forced a turnover with 0:02 left to send the game into overtime.
From there, King's took a 74-72 lead on two foul shots by Jim Welsh, then stretched the advantage to 77-72 when Dwebeng buried a three-pointer with 2:27 left in the extra session. After Cook hit a three-pointer for the Defenders to cut the lead to 77-75 with 1:03 left, Cousart was fouled and made one of two charity tosses to give the Monarchs a 78-75 lead with 0:52 on the clock. After Baptist Bible miss, Dwebeng was fouled with 0:27 left and calmly sank both free throws to push the Monarch lead to 80-75.
Baptist Bible would miss on its next possession and King's would rebound to end the contest.
Dwebeng was 6-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. John Soboleski had a big game for the Monarchs with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Cousart and Vince Scalzo added 12 points each. Welsh chipped in with 10 points.
Both teams were careless with the basket as King's committed 31 turnovers while the Defenders coughed the ball up 29 times.
Ken Clarke led the Defenders with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals. Nate Penley followed with 16 points and nine rebounds. Josh Workman and Cook contributed 15 and 13 points respectively.
King's will travel to face Elizabethtown College Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
