The Pioneers (10-6, 5-4) jumped out to a 29-16 halftime lead as Mike Jamerson scored nine first half points and Mike Shaw added eight points to lead the charge. With their first points, a 3-pointer by Shaw, the Pioneers went off on a 22-6 run over the next 10 minutes.
Stout (9-8, 2-7) shot only 19 percent (4-21) in the first half from the field, but improved immeasurably in the second half, shooting 53 percent (9-17) and pulled to within 10 points, 33-22, at the 17 minute mark, then came as close as 40-32 with 10 minutes left in the game. That would be as close as they would get
Jamerson led all scorers with 14 points and Mark Gossens contributed 11 points for the Pioneers. Platteville outrebounded the taller Blue Devil team, 31-22.
Jacob Nonemacher led Stout with 10 points, but was held to four rebounds. Brandon White-Blackmon, making his first start, scored seven points as did Jerrel Enerson-Matthews.
Stout had 14 turnovers, while the Pioneers had 12. The 38 points for Stout was their lowest offensive output of the season.
