Indiana (Pa.) 77, Lycoming 66

La Crosse, Wis. — The UW-La Crosse men's basketball team earned its 10th Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win of the season Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall with a 54-32 victory over UW-Platteville. The Eagles improve to 15-7 overall and 10-4 in the conference while the Pioneers drop to 12-9 overall and 7-6 in the WIAC.

UW-L, ranked 22nd on D3hoops.com, trailed 13-12 with 9:46 left in the first half after Mike Jamerson hit three free throws for UW-Platteville. The Eagles then ended the half on a 23-6 run to lead 35-19 at intermission. Chris Ask scored seven points for UW-L in the last 8:05 of the half as the Eagles shot 55.6% (15-of-27) from the field in the first 20 minutes, including four-of-six from three-point range.

The teams combined for 32 points and were 11-of-45 (24.4%) from the field in the second half. UW-Platteville, which shot 19.2% (five-of-26) in the second half, could get no closer than its halftime deficit of 16 points in the second half. UW-L was held to 31.6% (six-of-19) shooting in the second half, including missing all five of its three-point attempts.

Chris Fehrenbach led UW-L with 14 points and three blocks while Ask finished with 13 points, four rebounds and three steals. Ask was five-of-seven from the field, including one-of-two from three-point range, and two-of-two at the free throw line. Joe Werner had four points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Eagles. UW-L shot 45.7% overall from the field, including 36.4% (four-of-11) from three-point range. The team finished eight-of-10 (80.0%) at the line.

Mike Shaw led UW-Platteville with seven points and four rebounds while Mark Gossens had six points and two assists. The Pioneers shot 25.0% (12-of-48) from the field, including 16.7% (two-of-12) from three-point range. UW-Platteville was six-of-13 (46.2%) at the line.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, February 14 hosting UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
