BRADFORD, Pa: — It was deja vu all over again for the Penn State Altoona men's basketball team, as similar to last year's contest in Bradford, the Lions fell behind early and never recovered, dropping a 75-63 decision at Pitt Bradford Wednesday evening.

Panther guard Dan Thomas led the charge from the opening tip, scoring five of the team's first seven points before Altoona could get on the scoreboard. After Tyler Franklin's jumper cut the Altoona deficit to six midway through he first half, Thomas and teammate Jon Hannon fronted a 9-0 run that gave the home team a 30-15 advantage.

Trailing 44-28 at halftime, the Lions rallied to within seven after a Len Castor lay up at the 12:23 mark. But a subsequent 13-4 run by Bradford finally put the game out of reach as Altoona fell to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in AMCC play. Bradford remained perfect in conference play, improving to 3-0.

Tyler Franklin recorded his second 30 point game in as many outings, shooting an astounding 12 of 14 from the field. He was a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc and also recorded seven rebounds in the losing effort. He was joined in double digits by Quintin Dziabo, who tallied 12 points. Pitt-Bradford used a crop of experienced veterans to put away the Lions, led by Hannon's 21 points. Shawn Spindler (19 points, seven rebounds), Dan Thomas (15 points, three assists), and Aaron Stang (10 points) aided the Panther attack.

The Lions did hold all-AMCC standout Ryan Race to just four points on the evening. Altoona is back in action on Saturday as the team travels to Lake Erie College for a 3:00 PM tip.
