With the win, the Polar Bears improve to 8-2 on the season.
Senior Danielle Andreasen joined Rinehart in double figures as she scored 12 points and dished out three assists. Andrea Beach was the only Wildcat to score in double figures, scoring a game-high 18 points.
ONU stormed out of the gate, scoring the game's first nine points. Junior Erin Brand canned a jumper at the 11:30 mark to give the Polar Bears an 18-3 lead.
SUNY IT shot just 22 percent (6-of-27) in the opening half and scored just 14 points. ONU shot 40 percent (15-of-38) from the field in the first half and held a 38-14 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Rinehart connected on three straight three-pointers to give ONU a 54-30 lead with 11:19 left in the game. The Wildcats shooting troubles continued in the second half, as they shot jusy 24 percent ( 8-of-33) from the floor and failed to muster a comeback.
The Polar Bears also held a 53-38 rebounding advantage.
Head coach Michele Durand had mix feelings about the win. "I'm glad we won the game but we didn't play our best basketball. We need to play much better tomorrow if we want to have a chance to win."
The Polar Bears will play DeSales (Pa.) Friday at 2 pm. DeSales defeated Marietta 77-44 on in the first game on Thursday.
