The contest was one sided from the start, as the Lady Panthers used a decisive 9-0 run to pull away for good less than five minutes into the game. After Altoona's Erin McGowan converted a three point play that gave the Lions a 3-2 lead at the 18:29 mark, Bradford would outscore the visitors 34-17 the rest of the first period to stake a 36-20 halftime advantage.
Andrea Mortimer's jumper pulled Altoona to within six at the 12:12 mark of the second half, but the resilient Lady Panthers answered with a 10-2 run that ballooned the lead to 14. Junior Brittany Poorman netted a team high 13 points and McGowan chipped in with 12 points and four boards. Forward Taiasha Brown was a force for the home team, recording an impressive 21 points and 14 rebounds on the evening. Katie Moore also played well for Bradford, draining 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Altoona made only six of its 25 field goal attempts in the first half and was out-rebounded 46-26.
The Lions, who drop to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in AMCC play, finish out the three game road trip on Saturday as they travel to Lake Erie College for a 1:00 PM tip.
