HAVERFORD, PA — Senior guard Abby Scattergood scored a game and season-high 25 points and pulled down a season-best ten rebounds to lead host Haverford College past Washington College in overtime, 63-59, in Centennial Conference women's basketball action Tuesday evening. The Fords set a new program record for blocks in a game, swatting away 12 shots in the victory.

Haverford jumped out to an early 16-8 lead over the opening 5:28 of the game after a three-point basket by sophomore guard Lindsay Festa. The Fords were able to extend their lead to as much as 13 points in the first half, and went into the locker room with a 29-18 advantage at the half. Haverford was able to get up by as many as 14 points early in the seconds half, but quickly saw its lead dwindle to five points after a 9-0 run by the Shorewomen. Washington came all the way back to tie the contest with 6:36 remaining in regulation after junior guard Elise Conway made a lay up. Both teams battled to a 47-47 score at the end of regulation.

The Fords started overtime on a 9-0 run over the first 2:23 of the five minute period. Washington once again came back to within two points at 57-55 with 48 seconds left in overtime. Over the final 48 seconds, sophomore forward Brittany Lattisaw, freshman forward Sara Cram and Scattergood combined to go six-for-eight from the charity stripe to help the Fords take the game from the Shorewomen, 63-59.

Lattisaw scored 17 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had five blocks in the win for Haverford, while senior forward Kate Wettstein also recorded season-bests with ten rebounds and five blocks. Tonight's game was the fourth time Wettstein has collected five blocks in a game in her career, while Lattisaw reached five blocks in a game for the second time in her career.

The Fords bested their previous program record of 11 blocked shots in a game, which happened against Cedar Crest on November 17, 1989 and on February 8, 2005 against Washington College.

Conway led Washington with a game-high 22 rebounds along with nine points. Sophomore Brianne Slizofski recorded a double-double for the Shorewomen, totaling 20 points and ten rebounds, while freshman Jane O'Donnell chipped in with 13 points in the losing effort.

Haverford will host Centennial foe Gettysburg on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
