Johns Hopkins 65, McDaniel 37

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Flying Dutchmen gained sole possession of first place in the MIAA race routing Adrian 81-42 in a showdown of league co-leaders on Wednesday night. Coach Glenn Van Wieren's Dutchmen are 5-0 in the MIAA standings while Adrian dropped a game behind at 4-1. The victory was Hope's 11th in-a-row and puts the nationally ranked Dutchmen at 13-2 overall.

Playing before a racuous Adrian crowd, the Flying Dutchmen quickly set the tone taking an 11-0 lead in the first two minutes. Midway through the half Hope led 25-6 and at halftime the margin was 39-12. Hope outscored Adrian 18-2 over the first five minutes of the second half. Hope's starters exited for the night with 15:19 left to play.

Derek Van Solkema led the Dutchmen with 14 points while Ryan Klein tallied 13 off the bench. Tyler Wolfe added 11 and Jesse Reimink scored 10 as the Flying Dutchmen shot 52% (31/60), including 11-for-25 from three point range. Adrian shot only 16% (4/25) in the first half and just 31% for the game, including 1-for-21 from three-point range. Hope outrebounded Adrian 41-25 led by Jesse Reimink with seven.
