BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Moravian College women’s basketball suffered its third straight loss in Commonwealth Conference action, falling to Albright College, 61-60, in a game at Johnston Hall Tuesday evening.

The Greyhounds' three-game losing streak is the program's first since dropping the final three games of the 2000-01 season. The win was Albright's second this season over Moravian after the Greyhounds had won the previous 12 games in the series.

Moravian jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first half before the Lions got on the board at the 17:19 mark. The Greyhounds kept the lead until the 3:04 mark when Albright took the lead on a three-point play by sophomore guard Charolette Ciccone. The Lions would hold onto the lead until the 8:11 mark of the second half.

Moravian trailed by just one point at half time as freshman guard Jessica Foran hit a three-pointer with 19 seconds left to cut Albright's advantage to 30-29. The Greyhounds had the ball at the end of the half but were unable to get a shot off. Neither team shot well in the first half with Moravian making ten of 27 field goal attempts (37.0 percent), two of five three-pointers and all seven of its free throw attempts.

The Lions were 11 of 29 from the field and eight of 11 at the foul line in the first 20 minutes, and Albright missed its only three-point attempt of the first half. Moravian had a 22-15 advantage in rebounds; however, the Greyhounds committed 16 turnovers in the first half to 12 for Albright.

The Lions stretched their lead to seven points at 45-38 with 11:23 to play before the Greyhounds went on a 9-0 run to take a 47-45 lead with 8:11 remaining. Foran tied the game with a pair of free throws and added a lay-up for the lead. The Lions ran off five straight points to take a 50-47 lead with 6:55 to play.

Moravian came back and took a 53-52 advantage with 4:55 to play but a three-pointer by senior guard Marie Levins gave Albright the lead back. The Greyhounds tied the contest twice at 55-55 and again at 57-57 with 44 seconds to play on a pair of free throws by senior forward Jenny Hackleman. Albright had a 61-58 lead with less then ten seconds to play when Moravian went inside to freshman forward Kirsty Stearns for a jumper in the lane with a second to play to finish the scoring.

The Greyhounds continued to struggle shooting the ball in the second half, making just nine of 26 field goal attempts (34.6 percent), two of four three-pointers and 11 of 13 free throws. Albright shot slightly better in the second half, connecting on 12 of 31 field goal attempts, one of seven three-pointers and six of 13 free throws. Moravian did finish the game with a 41-39 advantage in rebounds; however, the Greyhounds had a total of 29 turnovers while Albright had 23 miscues.

Moravian had two players in double figures led by Hackleman who had a career high 21 points. Hackleman, who was honored before the game for joining Moravian's 1,000-point club, added eight rebounds and two assists. During the contest, Hackleman became the sixth player in school history to reach 700 career rebounds and now has career totals of 701 rebounds and 1,039 points, which is 15th all-time.
