READING, Pa. — Albright needed 30 years and 44 games to finally pick up a win against Elizabethtown on the basketball court. The Lady Lions only needed two weeks to pick up their second win against the Blue Jays, as they rolled to a 73-45 Commonwealth Conference win Saturday evening in the Bollman Center. The win is the eighth straight for Albright, tying a school record set last winter. The Lady Lions also tied the school record for wins in a season, as they improve to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play. Elizabethtown falls to 9-8, 2-6 with the loss.

Albright was in control from the outset, and never trailed in the ball game. Jen DuPrau's jumper gave the Lady Lions a 16-6 lead seven minutes in. The Albright lead hovered between seven and 10 points for the next five minutes, until a 6-0 run put the Lady Lions on top by 14, 28-14, with 7:00 remaining in the half. Etown sliced the Albright lead to nine, 33-24, 3:43 before the break, but Natalie Bizzarro scored the final five points of the half to send Albright to the locker room holding a 38-14 lead.

The Lady Lions effectively put the game away with a 12-2 run to open the second half. Annie McMahon's jumper put Albright on top 50-26 with 12:47 left, and the Blue Jays would not get closer than 21 points for the rest of the contest. McMahon led Albright with 19 points and added eight rebounds. She was 3-5 from three-point range. Marie Levins added 14 points for the Lady Lions on 4-5 shooting from the field, including 2-2 from downtown. She was also 4-4 from the free throw line. Mallory Olsheski was the only other Albright player in double figures, finishing with 10 points. Staci Waligorski led Albright with 11 rebounds as the Lady Lions out-rebounded Etown 52-35. Audrey Hitz scored 10 points to lead the Blue Jays and added eight rebounds. Albright held Etown's Erin Walton, who entered the game averaging a conference-best 22.6 points per game, to just three points on 1-8 shooting from the field.
