READING, Pa. — Freshman Mallory Olsheski scored a career-high 16 points and Albright held Lebanon Valley to just 18% shooting from the field as the Lady Lions ran away from the Dutchmen 58-27 in the Commonwealth Conference opener for both teams Tuesday night in the Bollman Center. Albright sees its record improve to 3-1 with the win, while LVC falls to 1-3.

Albright scored the first 11 points of the game, using a smothering defense to keep the Dutchmen off the scoreboard for just under nine minutes. After a Jenna Gambino lay up got the visitors on the board with 11:07 left in the half, Staci Waligorski and Olsheski hit back to back baskets to push the Lady Lion lead to 15-2. LVC would score the next four points to pull within nine, but would not get any closer for the rest of the evening. Albright closed the half on a 9-4 run and held a 24-10 lead at the break. Annie McMahon led Albright with six points at the half, while Gambino and Monica Johnson each had four for the Dutchmen.

The Lady Lions came out firing in the second half, scoring on their first three possessions to push the lead to 30-10. That would be the start of a 19-5 run over the first nine-plus minutes of the half that effectively put the game away. Charlotte Ciccone\'s jumper with 10:24 left in the ball game gave Albright capped the run and gave Albright a 43-15 lead. The Lady Lions cruised home from there, as they limited the Dutchmen to just 14.3% (6-35) shooting from the floor in the second half.

Olsheski scored 12 of her game high 16 points in the second half, including a perfect 3-3 effort from beyond the three-point line. McMahon was the only other Lady Lion in double figures, finishing with 10 points. Albright dominated the boards in the game, out-rebounding LVC 55-37, led by Jackie Hardwick\'s nine. The Lady Lions also committed a season-low 13 turnovers while forcing 20 from the Dutchmen. Ciccone finished with five assists, while Natalie Bizzarro and Marie Levins each added three.

Donna Geiger led Lebanon Valley with eight points in the game. Albright held Johnson, who entered the game averaging 16 points a night, to just six points, although she did pull down a game-high 12 rebounds and block a pair of shots. Gambino also finished with six points for the Dutchmen.
