SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Crystal Schneck and Nikki Smith scored 11 points each as Susquehanna University knocked off Moravian College 59-42 in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action at O.W. Houts Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Schneck went 5-for-5 from the field and added five assists and four rebounds as the Crusaders (4-1 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth) led from the game's opening possession and held the Greyhounds (4-2 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth) to 34.5 percent shooting from the field for the game.

Smith drilled three three-pointers and added three steals in 16 minutes off the bench for the Crusaders, who led 23-16 at halftime and by as many as 20 points on two occasions in the second half.

Moravian did not place any players in double figures, as Jessica Foran, Jenny Hackleman and Kate Harrison each scored eight points to lead the Greyhounds. Kelly Applegate, the reigning Commonwealth Conference player of the year, shot just 2-for-6 from the field and finished with four points and five rebounds in 17 minutes for Moravian.

Susquehanna led by as many as 10 points in the opening half, led by Smith's eight points and six from Schneck, while Moravian was paced by six points and five rebounds from Hackleman in the opening 20 minutes.

The Crusaders took control in the second half with a flurry of three-pointers, as Jen Clark, Courtney Thibeault and Smith all connected from beyond the arc in a span of 2 minutes, 10 seconds to push the Crusader lead to 44-27 with 12:33 remaining. Moravian would come no closer than 16 the rest of the way as their streak of eight consecutive wins in the series was snapped.

Clark finished with nine points and six rebounds for the Crusaders while Ruth Williamson added seven points and six rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
