The Cavaliers led for the majority of the first half as they found Randy Reid inside for 13 early points, and handled the Eastern pressure for much of the early part of the game. The Eagles closed out the opening half on a 7-0 run to take a 25-22 lead into the break. Matt Malloy led the Eagles with 9 at the break.
The second half began with a 13-2 Eastern run that firmly established control of the game for the favorites. Volpe hit for ten points in the opening five minutes, and the Eastern team held the lead above seven for the rest of the day. Reid finished the game with 18 points, and fellow post player Bruce MacLelland collected a game high 14 rebounds in the loss. The Cavaliers forced the Eagles, who shoot above 50% on the year into a 37% shooting night, but could only muster 34% themselves.
Eastern's Lenny DiMaria scored 15 points and Brent Williams added 11 off the bench. The Eagles improve to 7-4 on the year and 4-2 in PAC play. The Cavaliers fall to 1-11 on the year. Eastern returns to action at Arcadia on Saturday.
