BALTIMORE — College of Notre Dame of Maryland held off a late Wesley College rally to win its final regular-season game, 60-51, Saturday afternoon at the Marion Burk Knott Athletic Complex.

Notre Dame (16-6) led by 20, 49-29, with 8:25 remaining in the game, but the Wolverines hit two-straight 3-pointers and scored 15 of the next 19 points, cutting the lead to nine, 53-44, with 5:44 to play.

Wesley (7-18) then cut the lead to seven, 58-51, with 2:28 to play on a 3-pointer by senior guard Annette Nacrelli (Elkton, Md./Caravel High School). The Gators, however, would hold Wesley scoreless for the rest of the game.

Senior center Catherine Vecchioni (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall High School) led the Gators with 12 points in the final home game of her career.

Senior forward Katrina Grier (Baltimore, Md./Edmondson-Westside High School) added 10 points, and junior guard Gloria Broady (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy) scored 11 points off the bench.

Nacrelli scored 14 points to lead all players. Sophomore guard Domonique Barrett (Dover, Del./Dover High School) had a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 18 rebounds.

Notre Dame continues its season next week when it will be the No. 1 seed at the 2007 Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference Championships, hosted by Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Gators will play the to-be-determined No. 4 seed on Friday, February 23, 2007, at 6 p.m.
