DOVER, De. — Wesley College (1-7, 0-3) fell to conference foe Cabrini College (4-1, 2-0) by a final score of 49-38, in women's basketball action on Monday night, at Jim and Shirley Wentworth Gymnasium. After the Wolverines jumped out to an early 18-10 lead off a basket by Patricia Milner (JR, Camden, DE/Caesar Rodney), Cabrini answered with a 10-2 run to tie the score at 20 apiece with 3:29 remaining in the half. Cabrini went into halftime with a 25-23 lead.

The second half proved to be a cold shooting half for the Wolverines, shooting only 6-of-27 (22.2%) from the field. Cabrini pushed the lead to 6 (35-29) with just over 14 minutes to play in the game and Wesley pulled to within 3 (37-34) with 10:56 remaining, but would get no closer the rest of the game. From that point, neither team would score until the Cavaliers would go up 39-34 off a basket by Melissa Beneditti (SO, Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) with 6:39 remaining in the game. Cabrini ended the game on a 10-4 run for the final margin.

Wesley was led by Brittany Lundy's (JR, New Castle, DE/William Penn) 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, adding 6 rebound and 4 assists. The Wolverines shot 16-of-54 (29.6%) for the game and only made it to the free-throw line 3 times in the game.
