Hampden-Sydney 67, Washington and Lee 60

NEW YORK, NY — The Hawk Men's Basketball team fell to 6-5 in CUNYAC play with narrow loss to conference foe New York City Tech, 71-67, on Friday night.

After an evenly matched first half, the teams continued that play with two ties and four lead changes in the first 10 minutes of action.

With under one minute remaining in regulation, Hunter sophomore Lance Evans hit a runner to tie the game at 67. New York City Tech quickly responded to retake the lead, 69-67, with 22 seconds left off a Otis Saylee jumper.

Omar Mahoney sealed the Yellow Jacket victory by hitting two key free-throws with 10 seconds remaining.

Evans led Hunter with 21 points while junior Gerard Ciarleglio recorded his 1,000th career point in just three years, finishing with 18 points in the contest.

Senior guard Rommel Dolar added 12 points off the bench including four three-pointers.
