Upper Iowa 85, Dubuque 64

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York City College of Technology men’s basketball team snapped a six-game losing streak, defeated the College of Staten Island 70-58 at the Klitgord Center this evening. Sophomore RYAN PHILLIP (NAZARETH / BROOKLYN, NY) led all with 19 points. City Tech improved to 4-15, 3-6 in conference play. Staten Island falls to 7-12 (4-12 CUNY) with the loss.

Three other Yellow Jackets scored in double figures as OTIS SAYLEE (Seward Park / New York, NY) had 18 points, KAREEM HANLEY (Canarsie / Brooklyn, NY) 15, and Andrew Vaughn (Erasmus Hall / Brooklyn, NY) with 10 points. City Tech shot 61% from the field, and 64% from the line.

Staten Island (7-12, 4-4 CUNY) senior center SEAN WEISMULLER (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) scored 15 points for the Dolphins, while senior guard MIKE JONES (Warren Hills / Washington, NJ) chipped in with 11 points.

Up next for the Yellow Jackets will be Lehman College on January 27th at 2:15 pm. City Tech will return home for the final home games of the season February 9th against York College for Senior Night with the women’s game tipping off at 5:00 pm, followed immediately by the men’s contest.
