Mosby Nets 32 Leading Roadrunners to 7th Win of Season

Mahwah, NJ: The Roadrunners of Ramapo College played host to #10 Lincoln University in a non-conference men’s basketball match-up in Mahwah. The Roadrunners posted a 91-75 victory at the Bradley Center to improve to 7-1 overall. Lincoln falls to 5-2.

The Roadrunners opened the game on an 8-2 run topped off by a Antoine Pryor (Elizabeth, NJ) three-pointer just under two minutes in. Ramapo spread their lead to double digits at 15:17, 17-6, with a three-pointer from sophomore Tim Wesley (Jersey City, NJ) and opened their lead to as many as 16 with 8:39 left to play. The Lions slowly closed the gap forcing six Roadrunner turnovers in the final minutes of play. At 40-30, with 5:07 on the clock, Dwight Dean (Baltimore, MD) sparked a 7-4 Lincoln run to head into the intermission just seven points, 44-37, behind Ramapo.

Ahmad Mosby (Jersey City, NJ) led the Roadrunners with 18 points hitting 6-12 from the field, and 5-6 from the line while Omar Alston (Carteret, NJ) netted 11 first half points. Alston pulled down a team high eight boards. For the Lions, Ja’Juan Robinson (Baltimore, MD) hit 6-10 for 12 points while Dean netted five of his 11 attempts including one three-pointer for 11 first half points. Robinson grabbed a team high three steals while the team forced 13 Ramapo turnovers. The Roadrunners hit 17-35 (47%) while Lincoln sunk 14-38 (37%). Lincoln turned the ball over 12 times in the half.

The Lions came within three at the start of the second half when Thomas Lahart (Philadelphia, PA) hit a lay up at the 19:05 minute mark. Ramapo spent the next six minutes fighting back to a double digit lead which came with 12:54 left to play when Shawn Frost (Newark, NJ) hit a dunk to take a ten point, 60-50 edge. Lincoln’s best opportunity came at 8:08 when Sami Wylie (Philadelphia, PA) hit a three-pointer to come within four but the Roadrunners took control once again and spread their lead to 17, the biggest gap of the game, with just over one minute to play knocking off Lincoln, 91-75 in Mahwah. In the half, Ramapo shot 58% over Lincoln’s 41%

Mosby finished the night with 32 points hitting 10-19 from the floor while pulling down ten rebounds for the double-double. Mosby also dished out a team high eight assists. Pryor recorded 18 points of his own while Wesley and Alston contributed 14 and 13 points respectively. As a team Ramapo shot 32-61 (53%) while the Lions sunk 30-77 (39%). Dean wrapped up the night with 20 points hitting 9-19 and Lavine Grimes (Philadelphia, PA) added 18 in the loss. Wylie and Robinson contributed 14 points each hitting a combined 12-28 from the field.

The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, December 11th when they travel to Baruch for an 8:00 PM start.
