Ithaca 83, Hartwick 61

NEW YORK, NY — A 61-42 edge on the boards helped the William Paterson women's basketball team (4-2) earn a 62-49 victory at John Jay (2-3) Nov. 29.

Seven Pioneers collected four or more rebounds, led by senior 5-11 forward Melissa Moore's (East Orange, N.J./North Bergen) 10 caroms. Thirty offensive rebounds also helped William Paterson notch a 20-7 edge in second-chance points.

Senior 5-7 guard Luci Custis (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark), the reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week, continued her recent outstanding play with a game-high 18 points, adding seven rebounds. Junior 5-4 guard Michelle Pellichero (Milltown, N.J./Bishop Ahr) had 10 points, four assists and five steals for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will begin NJAC play Saturday, Dec. 2, when they host Rowan at 1:00 p.m.
