The Bearcats (14-6, 9-0 CUNYAC) took control from tip-off and led 14-3 with 12:25 left in the opening half.
The lead grew to 16 points (32-16) with one minute left, as the defense forced 18 turnovers behind a stifling full-court effort that frustrated the much taller Bloodhounds (14-7, 7-2 CUNYAC).
During the start of the second half, the home side managed a minor rally to cut the lead to 12 points (39-27), but the Bearcats responded to go up a game-high 19 points (52-33) midway through the second half.
They were never threatened the rest of the way.
Junior Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, III./Rich Central) led the visiting Bearcats with 16 points (7-11 fg), seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
Senior Jody Trapp (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) scored 11 points, including nine in the second half. She also added three assists and two steals.
Junior Dominique McClendon (Chicago, III./Seaside) nearly had another double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, while senior Racquel Reid (Bronx, N.Y./Washington Irving) grabbed nine rebounds and senior Ally Stamatiades (Astoria, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) had eight points and four assists.
The Bearcats took 72 total shots attempts, and dominated in bench scoring (27-12) and points off turnovers (33-6).
Melissa Escalera (Bronx, N.Y./Stevenson) led the hosts with a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
The women’s basketball team will next host archrival Hunter College this upcoming Saturday at 1:00 pm.
