The Bearcats (15-6, 10-0 CUNYAC) never trailed, shot 55.8 percent (29-52), and forced 32 turnovers to pick up their 15th victory.
The conference battle was tightly contested during the first 16 minutes, but the Bearcats went on a 10-0 run in the final four minutes to build a 33-22 advantage at halftime.
They continued with a 19-8 run to start the second half to lead 52-29 with 14:14 left.
Hunter (10-10, 6-3 CUNYAC) was able to get as close as 16 points (54-38) midway through the half, but the Bearcats closed out the big victory for their third straight win against the rival Hawks.
Senior point guard Jody Trapp (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) had a team-leading 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
Junior Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, III./Rich Central) scored 15 points, seven steals, and six assists, while senior Racquel Reid (Bronx, N.Y./Washington Irving) notched 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals.
Senior Ally Stamatiades (Astoria, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) had nine points, five rebounds, and two steals. Junior Dominique McClendon (Chicago, III./Seaside) scored eight points.
The visiting Hawks were led by Andrea Buckman (Queens, N.Y./Flushing) with a double-double of 18 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.
The women’s basketball team will enjoy a brief break in their schedule and return to action this Friday with a conference home game against CCNY. Tip-off in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
