The Bearcats (9-6, 5-0 CUNYAC) have now defeated their five CUNYAC opponents this season by an average of 36.6 points per game.
The game did not start well for the Bearcats as they trailed 19-16 with 8:01 left, but they overturned the early deficit by ending the first half on a 28-10 run for a 44-29 halftime lead.
Dominique McClendon (Chicago, III./Seaside) and Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, III./Rich Central) ignited the run with back-to-back three-point plays, and Ally Stamatiades (Astoria, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) later nailed a pair of three-pointers and free throws to run up the 15-point halftime lead.
During the second half, City Tech (8-6, 2-3 CUNYAC) managed to cut Baruch’s lead to 70-59 with eight minutes remaining, but that would be as close as they would get as Baruch ended the game with an emphatic 37-12 run.
Jody Trapp (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) led the Bearcats this evening with 18 points (6-9 fg), Racquel Reid (Bronx, N.Y./Washington Irving) scored 16 points, and Karlee Whipple (Lund, Nevada/Lund) added 15 points and two steals.
McClendon finished with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Myleka Garnett (Seaside, Calif./Seaside) and Naesha Tyler-Moore (Chicago, III./Rich Central) each scored 10 points.
Kemi Owoseni (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) led four players in double-digits for the Yellow Jackets with 20 points.
The Bearcats will continue their conference schedule this Friday night at home against Brooklyn College.Tip off in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
