New York, N.Y. — For the second consecutive home game, the Bearcats suffered a home loss on a jumper in the closing seconds of a conference contest in the ARC Arena.

This time, Kyle Lockett (White Plains, N.Y./Alexander Hamilton) did the damage by nailing a jumper with 1.7 seconds left to give the visiting Lightning the important road victory.

The Bearcats have now lost their last three home games by five total points.

The exciting game in front of over 1,000 fans in the “Battle of the Boroughs,” featured six ties and nine lead changes.

The Bearcats dominated the boards with a 52-34 advantage, but Lehman did a solid job of taking care of the ball with only nine turnovers, including just four in the second half.

The Bearcats had the ball with 10 seconds left and the shot clock expiring, but missed a 3-pointer that gave the ball away to Lehman for the final shot.

Lockett, who finished with a game-high 27 points, was able to get free for a brief moment to nail the winning jumper with 1.7 on the clock.

The loss drops the Bearcats into a third-place tie with CCNY at 7-5, while Lehman (9-15, 5-7 CUNYAC) rescues their conference hopes for a better seed by joining Medgar Evers and City Tech in a three-way tie at 5-7.

Phil Schatz (Middle Village, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) led the Bearcats (9-14, 7-5 CUNYAC) this evening with a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Carl Emengo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Canarsie) had eight points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists, while Arki Wisnu (New York, N.Y./Newtown) recorded nine points.

The Bearcats will return to action this Friday with a 7:30 pm road game at Hunter College.
