Santiago (Norman Thomas/Washington Heights, NY) who entered the game only needing eight points for the milestone, was determined to get it out of the way early, as she scored the first seven points for the Lightning. With 6:44 remaining in the first half, a 15-foot jump shot earned her the honor. The senior finished with eight assists, and seven steals.
Lehman also received a solid performance from sophomore sensation Sally Nnamani. The Warwick, NY native finished with a game high 26 points while sophomore Monique Sampson added 14 points to go with a game high 12 rebounds and Maria Loor added 10 points for Lehman.
City Tech (9-11 overall/3-7 CUNY) was led by freshman center Tempestt Casey. Casey (Bronx Leadership/Bronx, NY) finished with a team high 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, while fellow freshmn Ashely Loney finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Up next for Lehman is a conference showdown with CUNY power College of Staten Island, on the road this Wednesday at 5:30pm. City Tech will take on New Jersey City University on Monday, on the road.
