STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The College of Staten Island men's basketball team (4-3) had their three-game winning streak snapped, falling to the Farmingdale State Rams (5-1) by a score of 81-77 Monday evening at the Sports and Recreation Center in Willowbrook, NY.

Junior sharpshooter Peter Lipka led the way for his squad, pouring in a career and game-high 29 points, including six-trifectas, to go along with four rebounds. Lipka's heroics from downtown appeared to be contagious, as the Rams shot a blistering 47.8 percent for the game from three-point territory. In addition, junior forward Brian Robinson contributed off the bench with seven points to go along with a game-high 10 rebounds.

In a losing effort for the Dolphins, it was the speedy Robert Mesjasz putting forth a tremendous effort for his squad, scoring a team-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and four steals in 36 minutes. Junior forward Gari Blackett continued his dominating play this season, posting his sixth double-double in seven games this season with 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting to go along with 13 caroms.

Both squads struggled at the charity stripe, with the Rams shooting 46.2 percent from the line while the Dolphins shot 62.1 percent. But the Rams shot better from the floor, nailing 50 percent of their shots, while the Dolphins shot just 41.9 percent from the field.

Farmingdale will travel to Rutgers-Newark on Thursday night, December 14th, for another non-conference game at 7:30pm. The Dolphins will look to get back on track on Wednesday evening as they travel to King's Point, NY to face the United States Merchant Marine Academy, tip-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
