FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The Farmingdale State women's basketball team picked up their seventh victory today with a 63-54 win over New Jersey City University (2-8) in Farmingdale, NY. The Rams improve to 7-2 at the holiday break and will return to action in January 2007.

Farmingale State built an 11-point lead halfway through the first as junior Christine Daley (Elmont, NY/Elmont) knocked down three consecutive shots from behind the arc. In the second, the Rams increased the lead to 19 before NJCU used a 16-0 run to make the score 51-48 with five minutes left to play, but Farmingdale kept scoring and would hold on for the victory.

The Rams held the Gothic Knights to 54 points and had three players in double figures. Junior Dankery Perez (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) led the team with 17 points and four assists, while Daley tallied 14 points and seven steals. Sophomore Ashley Ruballo-Kline (New York, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) finished with 13 points and five rebounds.

New Jersey City sophomore Kelly (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson County Prep) just missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Senior Latrese McNair (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) posted nine points, eight board and seven steals.

The Rams will host conference opponent Merchant Marine on January 6th, 2007 at 1:00pm.
