FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Farmingdale State (5-1, 2-0 Skyline) took a home overtime victory today in a conference women’s basketball game against the College of Mount Saint Vincent (4-2, 2-1 Skyline). The Rams held a one-point lead at the half, but the Dolphins grabbed the lead for most of the second and led 68-60 with four minutes remaining.

Junior center Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) and senior guard Rochelle Clark started a 9-0 run for Farmingdale to take a 69-68 lead with 56 seconds on the clock. Mount Saint Vincent freshman guard Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph) sank a three-pointer with nine seconds remaining to switch the lead to 71-69. But the Rams had the final possession and Miller hit a last second jumper from just outside the paint to tie the game at 71 and force overtime.

Farmingdale would outscore the Dolphins 15-7 in overtime and take the 86-78 conference win. Christine Daley led with a game-high 24 points, including six three’s, while Miller finished with a game-high 16 boards and 20 points. Junior Dankery Perez (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) had 13 points, eight assists and five steals, while Clark chipped in with 10 points and six assists. Junior Ashley Ruballo-Kline was the Rams’ fifth player in double-digits with 10 points.

Mount Saint Vincent junior forward Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook) tallied a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman forward Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park) and freshman forward Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) both finished with 18 points.

Farmingdale State will now travel to Montclair, NJ for a game with Montclair State on Tuesday, December 12th at 7:00pm. Admission to the game is free with a donation of an unwrapped toy for ages 3-14.
