HOBOKEN, N.J. — Stevens Institute of Technology junior forward Dora Enright (Longmont, Colo.) surpassed the 1,000-point scoring plateau for her career as she collected 15 points during the Ducks’ 61-43 victory over St. Joseph’s College on Wednesday at the Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. Enright, who now has 1,014 points in her career, is just the sixth women’s basketball player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Sitting on 999 career points, Enright wasted little time collecting her 1,000th point as she scored on a lay-up off a pass from junior guard Jean Matusiak (Queens, N.Y.) just 37 seconds into the game. Enright shot 6-for-11 from the field in the game and collected five rebounds as well.

Freshman guard Brittany Fuller (East Rockaway, N.Y.) scored a team-high 17 points on seven of 13 shooting from the floor. Fuller connected on two of four shots from downtown and added five rebounds. Freshman guard/forward Sarah Gehring (Spokane, Wash.) made five of seven shots overall and was 2-for-3 from long range. She finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Dani Dudek (Rockaway, N.J.) totaled nine assists, six rebounds, four points and three steals for the Ducks (11-3, 4-1 Skyline). Junior forward/center Rebecca Baldyga (Voorhees, N.J.) posted nine rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench.

St. Joseph’s (1-13, 0-6) was led by freshman guard Carissa Pirotta (East Northport, N.Y.), who had 12 points. Pirotta drained three shots from behind the arc in the game. Freshman forward Trish McMahon (North Patchogue, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points. Freshman forward Dana Carney (Patchogue, N.Y.) added seven points and 12 rebounds.

Leading 18-14 with just over eight minutes remaining in the first half, Stevens scored 12 unanswered points in the span of 5:09 to take control of the game. After four straight points by Enright, Gehring hit a jump shot. Enright followed with a lay-up, and Fuller nailed a jumper. Matusiak capped the burst with a jumper of her own as Stevens took a 30-14 lead with 3:02 left in the half. The Ducks led 30-16 at intermission.

Stevens put the game away early in the second half with an 11-5 over the first 4:26 of the period. Fuller scored four points in the spurt as the Ducks opened a 41-19 cushion with just over 15 minutes remaining. Stevens led by as many as 28 points (51-23) in the second half.

The Ducks will be back in action on Saturday when they host Manhattanville College at 1 p.m. That game will be carried live at www.duckcast.com.
