Hoboken, N.J. — The Farmingdale State women's basketball team dropped to third place in the Skyline tonight with a 66-55 loss to Stevens (14-3, 7-1) in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Rams fall to 11-4, 7-2 with the loss and have seven conference games remaining this season, including a re-match with Stevens and two big games against 2nd place Mount Saint Mary and 4th place Old Westbury.

Farmingdale led after the first as a last second Kimberly Blakney three-pointer gave the Rams a 26-23 edge. The second half was close and the score was tied three times. But with a 45-45 game and 5:34 left on the clock, Stevens used a 14-1 run to take a commanding 13-point lead. Farmingdale cut the deficit back down to seven but could not recover after Stevens made seven free throws in the final minute of play.

Junior guard Christine Daley led the Rams with 22 points, including five from downtown, while also grabbing five rebounds and four steals. Blakney finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

For Stevens, four players finished in double figures. Jean Matusiak posted 22 points, Dora Enright had 15 points and 20 rebounds, Brittany Fuller had 11 points and Sara Gehring tallid 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.

The Rams will travel to face Old Westbury on Wednesday, January 24th for a 7:00pm conference game. The Panthers are currently in 4th place in the Skyline.
