HOLLAND, Mich. — The Flying Dutchmen posted a crowd-pleasing 86-53 home victory over Alma Saturday to extend their winning streak to 12 in-a-row while remaining atop the MIAA with a 6-0 record. Coach Glenn Van Wieren's Dutchmen improved to 14-2 overall.

About the only time the outcome of this game was in doubt was before the opening jump. Actually, Hope won that and raced off to a 16-0 lead with junior guard Derek Van Solkema scoring 12 of the points. Hope led 21-2 just five minutes into the game behind 8-for-8 shooting, including 3-for-3 from three-point range. Hope led 43-20 at halftime and by as many as 41 points in the second half.

Senior Stephen Cramer scored a career-best 23 points behind 10-for-11 shooting. A game highlight was Cramer's dunk off a pass from Van Solkema in the second half. Van Solkema ended with 15 points on 5-for-5 shooting, including 3-for-3 beyond the arch. Ryan Klein scored 10 points off the bench.
