FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The Farmingdale State men's basketball team improved to 14-7, 9-4 in the conference tonight with a 100-68 win over Maritime College (3-20, 2-12) in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams hit the 100-point mark for the first time since December 17, 2005, while also setting a season-high 27 assists. Farmingdale is now 9-0 all-time against the Privateers.

The Rams led 55-28 after the first, as sophomore guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) poured in 16 points, hitting 4-of-5 from three-point territory. Sophomore guard Joe Cammarata (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) had five assists in the first half, while freshman Merlin Bass (Queens, N.Y./Holy Cross) tallied seven points.

In the second, Cammarata went 4-of-5 and added two more assists for Farmingdale and finished the game with career-highs of 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Junior forward Tom Canning (Oak Beach, N.Y./Babylon) also had a big half with nine points.

Five finished in double figures for the Rams. Santana finished with 17, along with 15 from Canning, 11 from both Cammarata and junior guard Terry Menefee (Montgomery, Ala./Shawnee Mission North, Ks.) and 10 points from junior forward Bobby Seible (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport). The rebounding was led by freshman guard Shane Denully (Bronx, N.Y./Our Saviour Lutheran) with eight boards, as Farmingdale outrebounded Maritime 48-20.

The Privateers were led by sophomore guard Timothy Dougherty (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) with 23 points and sophomore forward Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) with 21. Both also grabbed five rebounds for the night.

The Rams will now host Manhattanville College this Saturday, February 10th in a Skyline Conference game at 1:00 p.m.
