After shooting just 39%, coach Glenn Van Wieren's Dutchmen trailed by five points at halftime, 36-31. The team responded with 67% shooting in the second half to rally to their fourth straight victory. Hope enters the Christmas break with a 6-2 record.
Tyler Wolfe's three-pointer put Hope ahead to stay 46-44 with just under 14 minutes to play. The Dutchmen went on an 18-5 run, but were unable to maintain the double-digit lead as the visitors came back within eight points with four minutes left.
Junior guard Derek Van Solkema led the Dutchmen with 19 points while Stephen Cramer added 18. Hope had two fewer baskets than Purdue, but had a 26-16 advantage from the free throw line.
