Austin 64, McMurry 59

MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota State, Mankato, had five players in double figures as the Division II Mavericks gave UW-Stout their second loss of the season, 89-64, Monday.

Kelsey Duoss had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Stout (8-2), while Heather Johnson came off the bench to lead Mankato (8-1) with 16 points.

Stout was held to only 29 percent shooting from the floor (8-27) in the first half and connected on only 1-of-5 3-pointers as they tried to make up some ground. The Blue Devils did improve in the second half, but not by much, hitting 35 percent (9-26). Stout made up much of what difference they could from the free thow line, hitting 20-of-28 charity shots (71 percent).

The Mavericks shot 48 percent for the game from the floor (31-65) for the game. Mankato got 13 points from Alanna Wahl and Joanne Noreen, 12 points and 11 rebounds from Alex Andrews and 10 points from Flecia Foster.
