Carleton 75, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 60

SALISBURY, Md. — The Salisbury University men's basketball team picked up where they left off in 2006 as they defeated Washington College, 78-65, Thursday evening at the Maggs Center to give SU its fourth straight win.

The Sea Gulls (8-2) were in control the entire game as they jumped out to a 13-point advantage at the break. Senior guard Ray Williams scored 15 first half points en route to his game-high 29 points to lead Salisbury.

Washington (2-8) pulled to within eight points with 13:42 left in the game but Salisbury was too much for the Shoremen to handle. The Sea Gulls built a 15-point lead down the stretch to ice the win. The Eastern Shore rivals showed no love lost for each other as they combined for 54 fouls (WC 29, SU 25).

Senior guard Segun Odumeru scored 10 points to move into Salisbury's top 10 all-time scoring leaders list with 1,302 career points. Odumeru passed Dave Pritchett (1982-'86, 1,293 points) for 10th place in the record book.

Sophomore forward Ozi Menakaya pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds while freshman Mike Hacke scored 14 points off the bench to help pace the Sea Gulls.

Washington senior forward Joey Breslin notched a double-double as he tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sea Gulls will next play Saturday, January 6, in the Greyhound Starters Classic hosted by Moravian College. Salisbury's first game is against Montclair State at 6 p.m.
