Werner recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 23 points and a career-high 19 rebounds while Fehrenbach had 21 points for the Eagles. It is the first regular-season sweep of UW-Whitewater for UW-L since the 1980-81 season. The Eagles recorded a 57-53 win in Whitewater earlier this year.
UW-L never trailed in the game, racing out to a 13-2 lead with 15:35 remaining. The Warhawks cut the margin to 33-25 at halftime, but the Eagles opened the second half with a 13-1 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 46-26 with 15:52 left. UW-Whitewater could get no closer than 11 points the rest of the game.
Werner scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the first half. He finished nine-of-16 from the field and hit all five of his free throw attempts in the contest. Fehrenbach scored 13 second half points and finished eight-of-15 from the field, including three-of-seven from three-point range. All three of his three-pointers came in the second half. Fehrenbach also hit both of his free throw attempts and added two steals.
UW-L shot 46.3% from the field, including 25.0% (three-of-12) in the second half. The Eagles were 14-of-17 (82.4%) at the free throw line.
Mike Toellner led UW-Whitewater with 15 points. The Warhawks shot 36.0% from the field, including 10.0% (one-of-10) from three-point range. The team was 12-of-19 (63.2%) at the line.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, January 27 hosting UW-Superior at 3 p.m.
