The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 95-62 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Saturday evening.
Whitewater led from the 15:23 mark on the first half to the conclusion of the game. The Warhawks led 45-31 at halftime, and the lead reached 36 points, 89-53 at 3:03,at the widest margin.
Whitewater shot a season best .630 from the field, just out of the top ten games in school history, which ends at .631. UW-W also equaled their season best from beyond the arc, hitting 8-12. They also shot .667, in this case 6-9, against UW-La Crosse November 29. Sixteen Warhawks saw action in the game, ten of them seeing double figure minutes. Whitewater had ten turnovers in the game. MSOE had 27 turnovers.
Senior guard Giovanni Riley (Milwaukee/Marshall) and senior forward Mike Toellner (Mayville) led the Warhawks with 14 points apiece. Jame Sabree scored 14 for the Raiders.
UW-Whitewater is 11-6 overall. Milwaukee School of Engineering is 11-8 this season.
The UW-W men will next face off against the Eagles at UW-La Crosse Wednesday,January 24, at 7:00 . The next home game for the Warhawks will be Wednesday, February 7 at 7:00, with UW-Stevens Point visiting Kachel Gym in Williams Center.
