The Vikings never trailed in the game and led by 19 (38-19) points at halftime, even with the shooting problems. In the second half the lead continued to grow with the final margin (34 points) being the biggest in the game.
Rockford fared even worse in the shooting department as the Regents shot just .305 (18-59) from the floor, including a miserable .259 (7-27) in the first half. To make things even tougher for the visitors, they turned the ball over 22 times and were outrebounded 50-33.
While Swetalla was the only Augustana player in double figures with his 15 points, sophomore Chandlor Collins had nine and Jordan Delp, Drew Wessels, Pat Brusveen and Alex Washington all scored eight. Washington led the team in rebounds with 11. Wessels had seven assists and he and Delp each contributed three steals.
The Vikings have now won six in a row and are a perfect 7-0 in the Carver PE Center this year. They moved their record to 9-1 on the season.
Rockford, which is 1-7, got 12 points from Mitch McCracken.
