Belton, Tx.; — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team dominated the game from the opening tip and the Crusaders never looked back in a 90-56 victory over the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in Belton. The UMHB men have now won four straight games to improve to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in American Southwest Conference play. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the ASC.
The Cru opened the game with a 7-0 and the Eagles went 4:10 before finally scoring. UMHB would stretch it out to 22-3 at one point and led by as many as 23 points in the first half before settling for a 45-26 halftime edge. The Cru continued to pour it on in the second half and Ozarks never cut the lead below 19 points the rest of the way.
Kevin Guyden led UMHB with 22 points despite the fact that he only played six minutes in the second half. Neiman Ford added 14 points and Ryan Burgart and Connor Kuykendall scored 12 points apiece of the Cru. Twelve different players scored for UMHB and the Cru shot 59 per cent from the field in the second half and 55 per cent for the game.
