The Cru opened the game with a 7-0 run and never led by less than four points the rest of the first half. UMHB would stretch the lead to 57-33 at halftime. The Cru would lead by at least 20 points until Concordia hit a three-pointer with 34 seconds remaining in the game to cut it to the final margin. UMHB shot 50 per cent from the field and held Concordia to 38 per cent shooting. The two teams combined to shoot 91 free-throws in a foul-filled game.
Kevin Guyden led the Cru with 20 points and Chris Poole came off the bench to add a career-high 18 for UMHB. Neiman Ford chipped in 14 points and Matt Dickey had his second straight double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Joel McDonald topped CUA with 15 points, Brad Walker added 13 and Emmanuel Cousins chipped in 10 for the Tornados.
The Cru will continue its home stand with two more home games this week. The UMHB men will welcome Sul Ross State to the Mayborn Campus Center for a 7:30 PM start on Thursday night before closing out the regular season home schedule with a 3:00 PM tip-off against Howard Payne University on Saturday.
