UMHB never trailed in the game and opened up a 24-9 lead midway through the first-half. The Lady Cru would lead 35-20 at halftime and just stretched things out in the second half. UMHB held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless for the final 7:27 of the game and rolled to their largest margin of victory on the season. The UMHB women shot a blistering 61 per cent from the field in the second half and hit 51 per cent for the game. The Lady Cru held TLU to 32 per cent shooting from the field and 22 per cent from three-point range.
Shannon Barnes led a balanced UMHB scoring attack with 12 points and she also grabbed six rebounds. Christian Tomlinson added 11 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots for the Lady Cru and 14 different players scored for UMHB in the victory. Mariah Smith was the only player in double figures for TLU with 13 points.
The Lady Cru will now return home to host Schreiner University for a 1:00 PM tip-off on Saturday afternoon. The UMHB women will continue their home stand with a 6:00 PM start against Concordia-Austin next Tuesday night.
