Pacific 101, Multnomah 85

BELTON, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team continues its rapid improvement with a 79-59 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference West Division action, Saturday afternoon in Belton.

The Cowgirls once again had great balance with four players in double figures. Jeni Hobbs led the way with a career-best 16 points. Laci Walker scored 15 points, Lyssa Dennard had 14 and Melissa Contrucci had 12 points and 10 rebounds four her fourth double-double of the season.

HSU limited the Crusaders to 34 percent shooting and only Shannon Barnes hit double figures for UMHB with 13 points.

The win is the sixth in a row for the Cowgirls and improves their overall record to 11-2 overall and 9-1 in ASC West play. UMHB fell to 8-5 overall and 6-3 in league play.

HSU will host Schreiner on Thursday in the Mabee Complex at 5:30 p.m. in its next action.
