The game was tied at 10 with 12:43 remaining in the first half before the UMHB women erupted. The Lady Cru closed the half with a 36-14 run to take a 22-point lead at the half. UMHB stretched the lead to as many as 27 points in the second half and the lead would stay over 20 until the 5:17 mark. Concordia hit a pair of threes in the final 27 seconds to cut the lead to just 10, but never seriously threatened in the game. UMHB shot 48 per cent from the field and held the Tornados to just 36 per cent shooting. The Lady Cru also out rebounded Concordia 53-31 in the victory.
Tae Lee Cisneros led UMHB with career-high 16 points and she also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Kallie White came off the bench to add 14 points for the Lady Cru. Christian Tomlinson chipped in nine rebounds and six blocked shots for UMHB and Julie Amabile added six assists. Kassandra Bills topped CUA with 15 points, but she hit just 6-22 from the field. Lanean Harris added 13 points for the Tornados.
The Lady Cru will continue its home stand with a 5:30 PM tip-off against Texas Lutheran University on Thursday evening. The UMHB women will then travel to Kerrville on Saturday to take on Schreiner University for a 1:00 PM start.
