UMHB opened the game with a 10-0 run and led by as many as 23 points in the first half before settling for a 44-26 edge at the break. The Lady Cru stretched the lead to as many as 27 points in the second half and never led by less than 12 the rest of the way. UMHB shot a blistering 53 per cent from the field as a team and held the Mountaineers to 36 per cent shooting. UMHB also out rebounded Schreiner 50-29 to help compensate for 17 turnovers.
Christian Tomlinson led a balanced UMHB scoring attack with 14 points on 7-7 shooting. Veronica Delgado added a career-high 12 points for the Lady Cru and Blair Heitmiller also scored 12 for UMHB. Kallie White had 10 off the bench for the Lady Cru and 14 of the 15 players scored. Monica Enriquez topped Schreiner with 18 points and Liberty Liesmann added 15 for the Mountaineers.
The Lady Cru will hit the road again next Tuesday night to take on Concordia-Austin in a 6:00 PM tip-off in Austin. The UMHB women will then return home to host Sul Ross State University for a 5:30 PM start on Thursday. The Lady Cru will close out the regular season home schedule with a 1:00 PM start against Howard Payne University next Saturday.
