Geneva 70, Westminster (Pa.) 66

CLINTON, MS — The 9th-ranked Mississippi College Choctaws (12-1) won their 12th game in a row this time over the University of Texas-Dallas (11-2, 6-3 ASC) by a 66-54 score in A. E. Wood Coliseum. The 54 points were a season low for the Comets.

The Choctaws trailed for much of the first half and by as many as six points before a 9-2 run to end the half gave them a 27-25 lead at the break.

MC started the second half on an 11-2 run to earn their first double digit lead by a 38-27 score. UT-Dallas mounted a comeback and trailed by just one point with the score 45-44 with 10:07 remaining, but the Comets would never earn a lead in the second half. MC pulled away in the final ten minutes of play and led by as many as 14 points before earning the 66-54 win.

The Choctaws were led by D. J. Jones who finished with 19 points. Jonathan Collins added 14 points with nine coming in the pivotal second half. Timothy Broomfield added eight points.

UT-Dallas was led by Martin Salinas with 17 points, but Salinas missed the final seven minutes with an injury. He was 5-15 from the floor and 3-8 from three point range. Mike McKee added nine points.
