GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford College made seven of its season-high 11 three-pointers in the second half and rallied from a 10-point deficit in Sunday's 79-69 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball win over visiting Eastern Mennonite. The Quakers' Jordan Snipes (Siler City, N.C./Jordan-Matthews) scored all 12 of his points in the second half and teammates Ben Strong (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) and Thomas Burge (Winston-Salem, N.C./Glenn (UNC Greensboro)) also netted 12 second-half points.

Guilford, ranked 20th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, moves to 13-2 (6-2 ODAC) for the first time since 1974-75. Eastern Mennonite slips to 5-10 (1-8 ODAC) with its seventh straight setback. The Quakers have won 12 of the last 13 meetings with the Royals.

The guests converted 11 Guilford turnovers into 12 first-half points and grabbed a 34-28 lead at the break. Eastern Mennonite limited the Quakers to 36 percent field-goal shooting and kept Snipes, the ODAC's third-leading scorer, without a point on four shots.

The Royals opened a 10-point lead on Brad Parkes' (Winchester, Va./James Wood) layup with 16:57 remaining in the game. Guilford's Eric Belkoski (Rockingham, N.C./Richmond Senior) drained a three-pointer and Burge buried two trifectas during a 13-3 Quakers' burst that tied the game at 45 with 13 minutes left.

After trading baskets, Burge broke a 54-54 tie and put the Quakers ahead for good, 57-54, with his third three-pointer of the half at the 6:56 mark. LeRoger Parrish's (Danville, Va./Tunstall) bucket with 5:02 left brought the tiring Royals to within 59-58, but Guilford put the game away with a decisive 12-0 burst over the next three minutes.

Strong led all scorers with 18 points and added a game-high eight rebounds. Burge hit for a season-high 16 points, thanks to 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc. He and Snipes added five assists apiece. Rookie Clay Henson (Glen Alpine, N.C./Freedom) also made 3-of-4 trifectas and finished with nine points off the bench. Guilford's Justin Strickland (Thomasville, N.C./East Davidson) also scored nine points off the bench. The Quakers enjoyed their best shooting day from long distance since making 11-of-17 three-pointers against Eastern Mennonite Feb. 6, 2005.

Parrish paced the Royals with 16 points and hit 4-of-9 three-point shots. Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va./Central) tallied 15 points and seven rebounds while Parkes added 15 points and six boards.

Guilford is off until Jan. 27 when the Quakers host league-rival Randolph-Macon at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Mennonite hosts Washington and Lee Wednesday (1/24) in a 7:00 p.m. ODAC game.
