Clinton, MS — The 9th-ranked Mississippi College Choctaws clinched another ASC East Division title Tuesday with an 88-52 shellacking of Louisiana College in A. E. Wood Coliseum and also earned the opportunity to host the ASC Championship Tournament. The division title is the fourth straight for MC and the eighth in nine seasons.WIAC

The Choctaws dominated from start to finish and built a 54-24 lead at the break. The Choctaws opened the second half by outscoring LC 18-3 to build a 72-27 lead with 12:48 left in the game.
MC won the rebounding battle 52-18 and outscored LC 52-2 in the paint. Defensively they held the Wildcats to a 30 percent shooting night while hitting 61 percent of their own.
MC entered the game leading all of Division III in scoring defense allowing 56.1 points per game and held LC four points below that average.
Five different players reached double figures for the Choctaws led by D. J. Jones with 13 points. Ryan Hudson, Gene Hunt, Jonathan Collins and Marcus Evans all finished with ten points each. Timothy Broomfield added eight points, eleven rebounds and four blocked shots.
LC was led by Jeremy Hollier who finished with 14 points, all in the second half, on 5-8 shooting including 3-6 from the three point line. Josh Johnson added nine points.
