Jones, a former standout at Southwest Missisippi Junior College, knocked down 5-6 shots including all three of his three-point attempts and was 8-11 from the foul line. Jones added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Choctaws led 40-19 at the break and controlled the game from beginning to end. Gene Hunt and Jonathan Collins also posted double figure points with 13 and 12, respectively. Hunt was good on 4-5 shots and 3-4 three-point attempts. Collins scored all of his points in the second half while dishing out a game high seven assists with no turnovers.
Texas Lutheran was led by Nate Walton's 18 points on 6-11 shooting. J. C. Herebia also added ten points to go along with four assists.
The Choctaws are off until they travel to Santa Barbara, CA for the Tom Byron Classic at Westmont College. The Choctaws will open against #14 Johns Hopkins on December 29. They will face either host Westmont of Thomas More in the second round game.
